Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Due to the high percentage of Spanish speaking individuals in the project area, will all public outreach regarding the EIS be conducted in English and Spanish?

Response: The Department will have a Spanish-speaking engineer present at all in-house review meetings and public meetings to insure cultural inclusiveness.

Question: The project area is in close proximity to the Woonasquatucket River Greenway and the northern terminus of the Washington Secondary Bike Path. Will the project address a connection between the two facilities?

Response: Connections between the two facilities will be addressed for any build alternatives studied during the EIS process.

Question: Will the EIS examine potential community and socioeconomic impacts and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate any negative impacts of the facility upon the surrounding neighborhoods?

Response: The EIS will address any environmental consequences for the alternatives considered, including changes in the neighborhoods or community cohesion for the various social groups.

Question: Will the EIS incorporate a survey of all historic resources within the project area and evaluate the nature of any potential impacts?

Response: The EIS will address any environmental consequences for the alternatives considered, including a discussion demonstrating that historic resources have been identified and evaluated in accordance with federal guidelines.
